Castledockrell National School
Vision and Mission Statement
Our vision of Castledockrell National School is of a safe and happy place where each child is nurtured and valued in an atmosphere of fairness, tolerance, trust and respect. Our school promotes the holistic development of each child so that he or she may realise his/her potential as a unique individual, and meet the challenges of life now and in the future.
While Castledockrell National School is a school with a Catholic ethos, we also give due recognition to children of all other beliefs.
In Castledockrell National School we aim to provide an appropriate, stimulating and broadly challenging education for all of our pupils. We endeavour to enhance the self-esteem of everyone in the school community, to instil in the pupils respect for themselves, for other people and for property, and to encourage the development of personal responsibility.
Castledockrell National School seeks to ensure that all members of the school community work in partnership, having the best interest of our pupils at heart. We are a learning community promoting, modelling and valuing life-long learning.
Castledockrell National School encourages our pupils to have respect for diversity, be environmentally aware, develop an appreciation of our world and cultivate positive attitudes towards health, fitness and well-being.
Déanfaimid iarracht Gaeilge a labhairt; the Irish language and heritage are central to learning in our school. We promote the use of Irish formally and informally throughout the school day.
Our school motto is “Ar Aghaidh le Chéile” which means “Going Forward Together”.
