A poem to welcome you back….
Hip, hip hurray
It’s back to school,
Come in from the park,
Come in from the pool!
Gather your pencils,
Your paper, your glue,
There’s lots of fun learning
We’re going to do.
I’ll be there to greet you
With a smile on my face
You’ll see that school
Is a very nice place.

We remind parents of our healthy lunches policy and thank you for your ongoing support with same.
Parent’s Association News and Notices
All parents are actively encouraged to become involved in the PA. The AGM for this year will take place in late September or early October. As soon as we have details we will let you know. Ms. Ryan and Mrs. Stone will attend this meeting and a new committee will be elected on the night.
Insurance Forms
We are sending home voluntary 24 hour insurance forms for individual children. If you are interested please send forms and money back into the school.
NCBI
We will host another clothes collection in conjunction with the NCBI this month, so if you have any clothing, shoes, books etc. to get rid of, we would be delighted to receive them here from Monday 17th to Friday 21st September. Please spread the word throughout the community.
Mornings & Evenings
Pupils should not be on the school grounds before 8.50a.m. This is in line with the BoM’s Supervision Policy for the purpose of children’s health and safety. Teaching begins at 9.00am and it is important that children arrive on time and are prepared for the day ahead. Please help us to keep the front of the school as safe as possible; always try to reverse park perpendicular to the school wall. Never park in front of the gate. Thank you for your support.
Assembly
Our school assembly takes place every Friday at 12:20. This is an important part of the school week where news, events and achievements are discussed and celebrated. All are welcome to attend.
Green School
We are very proud of our Green School status having being awarded 6 flags in the past 10 years or so. We now look to renewing our 7th Flag during the coming school year. Our committee will begin the process in the coming weeks and keep you informed of any events/action days. We would like to remind everyone about our WOW Days (Walk on Wednesday) and encourage parents and children to walk/cycle when possible. We will re-launch our WOW day on Wednesday, 12th September. We will meet at the church at 8.50am and walk together to school where we will enjoy breakfast together. Also, in order to cut down on paper towel waste, please provide your child with a small hand towel/face cloth to dry their hands.
Photocopying and Art €30
Money is now due in for Photocopying/Arts and Crafts. This money is hugely important to the school. Thank you to all parents who have already paid. We can set up a payment plan for any family who would like us to do so.
A poem to welcome you back….
Hip, hip hurray
It’s back to school,
Come in from the park,
Come in from the pool!
Gather your pencils,
Your paper, your glue,
There’s lots of fun learning
We’re going to do.
I’ll be there to greet you
With a smile on my face
You’ll see that school
Is a very nice place.

However this is being subsidised by the BOM and will therefore cost each child €1 per week (or €6 in total). This can be paid weekly or in advance. It is with thanks to the PA fundraising that we are able to subsidise activities such as this.

Children will be encouraged to send a photo of them. Also on the 10th of February we will participate in the operation Transformation “10 at 10” initiative.

We continue to encourage children to follow all the hard work started by the Green School Committee, by recycling as much as possible, saving energy and water when possible, etc. Our NCT continues, and we hope that as the weather continues to improve more children will participate. Our hand towel initiative has been very successful and we continue to ask children to bring a small towel with them to school.
