Thank you to everyone who came along to our annual Grandparents' Day celebration in the school on Wednesday, 29th January. The student council did a wonderful job preparing the prayer service and art activity. The children were all involved in doing readings and prayers, playing music and singing songs. Helena our Music Teacher accompanied Walk in the Light, Raglan Road, Red is the Rose, Boolavogue, West Kerry Polka and Maggie in the Woods. Then the after school music class played a brand new tune "Absent Friends". Grandparents and grandchildren then worked together to create a beautiful family tree using thumb prints. Following this we all enjoyed a nice cup of tea and some delicious home baking.

Today the children started a six week yoga programme, everyone really enjoyed this morning's session and look forward to next week.
One of our G.A.A. trainers, P.J. Howlin, brought a special guest to visit the school today, the 'Bob O' Keeffe Cup'! The trophy was received by the Wexford Senior Hurlers last summer when they won the Leinster final. The children were delighted to get their photos taken with the cup and look forward to seeing more silverware in 2020!
Well done to the Student Council who met with the Digital Schools of Distinction inspector on Tuesday, 14th January to showcase the digital learning taking place within the school. The inspector was very impressed with their confidence and knowledge of the subject. Maith sibh! Welcome back everyone; we hope you had an enjoyable Christmas break.
We would like to take this opportunity to wish all of our families and the wider community a Happy and Peaceful New Year. |
