Dear Parents, 6th Jan 2021
We would firstly like to wish you all a Happy New Year. We hope that you all had an enjoyable Christmas and that you and your loved ones are all keeping safe and well. As you are aware the government extended the Christmas holidays by three days - 6th, 7th & 8th of January. In order to support the suppression of the Covid-19 virus in the community, the government announced yesterday that schools will be closed to students for a period of three weeks. NPHET remain of the view that schools are low risk environments but that there is a need to reduce activity and movement to curb the spread of the virus. We are currently putting in place remote provisions for home learning from Monday 11th of January for all of our students. Much like the last lockdown most of the work will be done via our SeeSaw app. Most of the communication with you the parents will be via school email. Schools have been asked to make arrangements to facilitate the collection of books by parents in a safe manner. We will do this on Saturday, 9th of January between 1 and 3pm. · Book Collection: Please wear a mask, come to the school gate, ring the school when you are outside and we will drop out all school books to you. If you are unable to come during that time please let me know in advance and we can make an alternative arrangement. We know that this is not an ideal situation for any of us, and that it will be challenging for all of us, but we will work together and support you and the pupils as best we can over the next few weeks. Again we remind you that every family situation is different so please be mindful of your own and your children’s well-being. If you or the children have any questions or concerns over the coming weeks regarding schoolwork please feel free to contact us by email or call: Ms. Ryan 086 8728285, Mrs. Stone 087 6570189 or Ms. Johnston 087 7942883 and we will assist you in any way we can. We too will be at home caring for our families so if we cannot answer we will call you back as soon as we can. Finally, we are thinking of you all at this time and thank you for your continued support. Stay home and stay safe. Yours sincerely, D. Ryan, on behalf of the Board of Management |
