Thank you to everyone who came along to our Christmas Carol Service in the church on Thursday, 15th December at 7pm. In spite of the cold weather we had a great crowd in attendance. We were delighted that the parish choir joined us on the night to perform two beautiful hymns. As always the children did a wonderful job with their singing, readings, music and retelling of the Nativity. Thank you to Helena Dunbar and Mr. Wadding for the lovely accompanying music. Thank you to Fr. Caulfield and everyone who came along to join in the festivities. Thank you to our wonderful PA who had refreshments for everyone in the parish hall afterwards. It was lovely evening.

A BIG thank you to our hard working Parents' Association and to all parents who gave up their precious time on Friday & Saturday, 16th & 17th December, for our Christmas trolley fundraiser in EuroSpar Bunclody. A special thank you to the staff and management in EuroSpar for supporting our fundraiser again this year. And a sincere thanks to all customers who kindly bought a ticket. Congratulations to the winner of the trolley draw Brendan Ryan. This fundraiser raised €1172.95 for the school. Go raibh míle maith agaibh! We had a very SPECIAL VISITOR in our school today...the children were thrilled when Santa arrived in the squad car. He had a sack of gifts for all of the great boys and girls in Castledockrell N.S. , and he even had some goodies for the teachers! We had a mini Christmas disco and sang some Christmas songs with Santa. Thanks so much to Bunclody Garda Station for such a fun and memorable morning 🎅🎅🎅 We held our annual 'Recycled Christmas Decoration Competition' in conjunction with the Wexford County Council Competition. We are a Green School having been awarded 7 Green School Flags and always try to reduce, reuse and recycle whenever we can. We were blown away by the creativity of our students this year- Well done everyone! Four decorations were chosen (Sadie, Barry, Jack & Adam) to represent the school in the county competition and were sent to County Hall last week. Best of luck to all involved. We had a wonderfully festive morning outside of Supervalu in Bunclody on Friday, 9th December where we all wore our Christmas Jumpers and did some Christmas Busking. A sincere thank you to the management and staff of Supervalu for welcoming us on the day and for their generous support. Thank you to all the parents who provided lifts and joined in with the Carols, and a special thanks to anyone who was kind enough to support us on the day. Despite the cold the children all sang and played beautifully; we had glockenspiels, tin whistles, bongos, bells, a keyboard and guitar. We then returned to the school for some well deserved hot chocolates and cookies! We look forward to our Carol Service next Thursday 15th December at 7pm in the church-all are welcome. The PA Christmas Raffle draw will take place on Thursday 15th December after the Carol Service in the parish hall. All raffle cards are to be returned to the school/PA by Friday 9th December please. The PA have been busy; have a look at these 9 wonderful hampers! A sincere thank you to all who donated items.
Additional cards available from the school office. Best of luck everyone! :) We marked the start of the season of Advent by attending mass with Fr. Caulfield this morning.
Advent is a special time of preparation and we are all learning about the meaning of the Advent Wreath. As part of our Christmas countdown in school all children have designed their very own snow-globe. They then wrote a 'Christmassy suggestion' on the back. Everyday we will pick a snow-globe and complete the activity in school. We have lots of nice, fun activities to look forward to including: Christmas jumper day, hot chocolates, Christmas discos etc. |
