The children, teachers and parents enjoyed sports day on Friday last, the 19th of June in glorious sunshine. The day started with a warm up...getting everybody in the mood with the Macarena, ChaCha slide and some playground games. This was followed by some station games, races, relay races, water races, obstacle course, high jump and the day came to a close with more dancing, but this time the parents joined in! Children were presented with medals and ice cream to cool down. A really great day! Today Thursday, the 18th of June 2015 we welcomed the new Junior Infants to the school for a Teddy Bear's Picnic. We started the morning decorating our own cupcakes, followed by a picnic with our furry friends in glorious sunshine. This was followed by fun and games in the playground. A great morning was had by all the children and the teddies! We can't wait to see the Junior Infants again in September. Here is an overview of our Sports Day timetable. We have a action packed, fun-filled day planned! The school tour took place on the 11th of June, the children and teachers set off early for the Watershed in Kilkenny. Here the children enjoyed a huge range of activities, including; swimming, waterslides, zorbing, a wrecking ball, wipeout, bouncy castles and much more. A great time was had by all and although they were tired after such a busy day...they still managed to sing all the way back to Castledockrell! Today, Monday 8th of June, Bunclody Fire Service visited the school to give the children and important talk on the importance of fire safety in the home.
Friday last, 5th of June the sport of Golf came to the school for the first time. The children were lucky to receive a golf tutorial from Jennifer of the National Golf Federation, where all the children got a chance to work on their swing! As you can see from the photos a great time was had by all and who knows we may have found the the next Rory McElroy! |
