Following the mass the children came back to the school for a slideshow of memories from their time with us. We sent them on their way with a guard of honour. Bye for now 6th class, don't forget to stay in touch!
Today we celebrated our 6th class graduation and end of year mass. We sang songs, played music, and presented the 6th class with certificates and gifts. Grace, Kian and Steven had a huge part to play in the celebration-singing, playing tin whistles, creating the artwork, doing readings and prayers. Ms. Ryan paid tribute to these 3 fine students and wished them well as they make the move to secondary school. We finished the mass with a rewritten Ed Sheeran song "Memories of Castledockrell". It was a lovely occasion; both parents and teachers are very proud of how the 6th class have grown and matured over the past eight years. We all had a lovely time at our Teddy Bear's picnic today, thanks to everybody for bringing in their furry friends to meet us. A special thank you to the new Junior Infants, who joined us on the day. Children in the junior room were busy preparing some treats for our Teddy Bear's picninic tomorrow, 21st of June. We look forward to welcoming our new junior infants for this very special occasion.....don't forget your teddy.
Today, the Junior Infants who will be starting school with us in September 2017, visited the school with their parents for the afternoon. They had the chance to meet and spend lots of time with their teachers and other children in the school.....and of course a chance to try out the toys. We look forward to seeing them again next week for the Teddy Bear's Picnic!
