We made lovely sock snowmen and magic reindeer food in school on Monday 21st December. Thank you to all parents who came in and helped on the day. The children of Castledockrell NS wowed audiences in the hall, on Tuesday and Wednesday nights of last week. The Junior Room performed a play called 'Christmas Eve in the toy shop', followed by some poems and songs. The Senior Room performed a great retelling of the story of Setanta, which they followed with some fantastic guitar playing and singing. Well done to all the children and thanks to all those who made the two nights such a great success.
The children from Castledockrell NS joined with the choir from Enniscorthy in the church, on Friday night, the 11th of December to perform a beautiful carol service by candle light. The service was performed as part of the Church's 175th anniversary celebrations.
One of our senior infant pupils won the recycled decoration competition and has been invited to a prize giving ceremony this Friday in Wexford town hall. There were 308 entries from schools across the county and the standard was very high.
Congratulations Anna! The children, teachers and parents all took part in a great morning busking on Friday last, the 4th of December, outside of Supervalu in Bunclody. Thanks to all who helped out on the morning and especially to Supervalu for allowing us the opportunity. Well done to all the children who worked so hard on their Christmas decorations over the past week. Each child in the school from Junior Infants to Sixth class were asked to make a Christmas decoration from recycled materials. The winning decoration from each class, will go forward to the County final and are on the display at the moment in County Buildings in Wexford. Well done to Adam, (Junior Infants), Anna (Senior Infants), Joe (1st), Ava (2nd), Leah (3rd), Faye (4th), Grace (5th) and Ruth (6th). |
