We were delighted to have Eoin from the Sea Exploreres Programme and the Marine Institute with us to conduct a squid workshop ....including dissecting squid. It was a really informative and interesting morning, learning all about the squid and examining the different parts of their body....even if the classroom smelt a little fishy afterwards.

We were delighted to present the proceeds from our carol service to Elaine, Joe and Ronan, on behalf of Make a Wish.
We had a wonderful celebration this morning for Grandparents Day. We started with mass in the church with lovely music from the children. After this all of the parents and grandparents came up to the school for an art activity, making a lovely memento of the day. This was followed by tea, buns and lots of chats. Thanks to everybody who attended to help make this such a special day. The children in the senior room have started to learn Spanish as part of the 'Say Yes to Languages' programme being delivered in primary schools across the country.
As part of our green school initiative we recently entered a poster competition entitled 'What I'd like to see for the sea' and we were delighted to have two winners in senior infants. They were presented with their prizes today at a ceremony in Cork. Well done....we are so proud!
We are now accepting enrolments for September 2024. If you would like an enrolment form please contact the school. Should you wish to meet with teachers and have a look around the school please feel free to contact us and we can organise this at a time that is convenient for you.
We had lots of fun with our Christmas arts and crafts in the run up to Christmas, making snowmen out of stockings and of course making the all important reindeer food for Rudolph and the gang.
The annual carol service took place last night in the local church. The children sang some lovely carols, played their tin whistles and also performed in a nativity play. They were joined on the night by the local parish choir and some past pupils performed also. Everybody enjoyed a nice cup of tea afterwards in the hall.
We had great fun busking at SuperValu, Bunclody. We performed lots of familiar Christmas songs, tunes and poems for all to enjoy. We enjoyed a nice cup of hot chocolate afterwards to warm us up. |
