Dear Parents,
We hope that you and your families all continue to be safe and well as we begin phase 2 of the reopening.
Please find attached work for the week ahead, the 8th- 15th of June, for all classes. The SeeSaw app will be updated daily also. This will be the last week of assigned home learning tasks. As is tradition, the 6th class pupils will finish their work a few days earlier than the other students. Next week we will all enjoy “Active Week” with lots of different, fun activities and challenges to do! More information to follow.
This week on Wednesday, 10th of June we were suppose to go on our school tour to “Explorium, the Sports and Science Museum” in Dublin. The school tour is always a memorable day out that the children and teachers alike look forward to. As we are unable to go we have researched some great virtual school tours for the children to try over the course of the coming week. Virtual tours are tours of famous locations, sites, museums and attractions around the world from the comfort of our own home using technology.
We have tried out all of the links we are sending to you but we cannot guarantee that there won’t be any ‘pop ups’ etc. as many of them are through YouTube, so we advise that the children are supervised on these virtual tours and remind them of our internet safety rules beforehand https://castledockrellns.weebly.com/internet-safety.html
Thank you to everyone who joined us on Zoom for our weekly assembly on Friday and for our class Zoom calls during the week.
School reports, booklists and information about the school calendar will be posted out the week of the 15th of June. The book collection will take place on Saturday, the 20th of June outside the school. Children will be asked to return all of the school books and copies, and all of their home learning to be corrected. Teachers will be there to hand out any other belongings e.g. soccer boots, hurls, artwork etc. You will be given a time slot for this. We are asking that the 6th class children come together on the day (maintaining social distance) to say goodbye to the teachers and to be presented with a special graduation goodie bag.
We hope that you all have an enjoyable and safe week.
Yours sincerely,
Deirdre Ryan
On behalf of the staff and Board of Management of Castledockrell National School.
